From Mary Quant’s revolutionary Bazaar to today’s trailblazing entrepreneurs, King’s Road has long been synonymous with bold ideas and brilliant women. This spring, that legacy comes to life once more with the Buy Women Built Female Founder Edit - a joyful celebration of the women shaping retail today.
On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May, the King’s Road transforms into a discovery-led playground, as a collective of female-founded brands invites you to explore, connect and indulge via a curated treasure trail.
From the cult beauty brilliance of Trinny London to the effortless style of RIXO, the feel-good comfort of Stripe & Stare, and the modern sparkle of Astrid & Miyu, this is a line-up that perfectly reflects the street’s contemporary creative energy. Each stop along the trail celebrates a founder with a story - part of the wider Buy Women Built movement, which shines a light on businesses created by women and the power of supporting them.
The concept is simple and rather irresistible. Pick up a treasure map, wander from one beautiful store to the next, and uncover a series of thoughtful surprises along the way. Expect everything from complimentary matchas and expert consultations to exclusive discounts and perfectly chosen gifts - a series of small pleasures designed to delight while introducing you to new favourites.
But this is more than a weekend of shopping. It’s a celebration of community, creativity and collaboration—an opportunity to champion the women behind the brands and to experience King’s Road in a fresh, sociable way. As Stripe & Stare co-founder Katie Lopes puts it, the initiative is rooted in “storytelling, connection, and championing the incredible women behind these businesses.”
With ten female-founded destinations - ncluding NRBY, Aspiga, Sarah Chapman, Wyse, Blink Brow Bar and Margaret Dabbs - the trail offers a uniquely Chelsea mix of fashion, beauty and lifestyle, woven together through shared values and entrepreneurial spirit.
So whether you’re a long-time local or simply passing through, consider this your invitation to shop a little more thoughtfully, discover something new, and take part in a story that stretches from the pioneering women of the past to the founders shaping what comes next.
Stylish, spirited, and full of personality - the King’s Road does it rather well.
