Live concert in a historic theater with a band onstage and an audience

Live music venues

Chelsea has always had music in its bloodstream. Long before concert halls and listening bars, these streets were home to artists shaping the music we know and love today.

Chelsea has always had music in its bloodstream. Long before concert halls and listening bars, these streets were home to artists shaping the music we know and love today – from Eric Clapton on the King’s Road to the Rolling Stones’ early days on Edith Grove and Bob Marley recording in Chelsea during his London years, now marked by a blue plaque.

The legacy still hums beneath the surface and today, Chelsea’s live music scene reflects that same spirit. Intimate rather than overwhelming with venues that reward listening properly. This is Chelsea’s soundtrack, past and present, played live.

606 Club
Hidden behind an unassuming door on Lots Road, the 606 Club is one of London’s most respected jazz venues and one of Chelsea’s best-kept secrets. With live performances seven nights a week, the Club champions jazz in all forms, from soul and groove to blues and gospel, with audiences close enough to feel every note.

Cadogan Hall
If Chelsea had a main stage, Cadogan Hall would be it. Grand yet welcoming, this historic concert hall hosts an impressive programme spanning classical, contemporary, jazz, world music and event spoken-word performances – all delivered with serious acoustics. This is where you come for a proper night out that’s polished, immersive and undeniably special. From orchestral concerts to headline jazz acts and festival takeovers, Cadogan Hall is where you’ll find global talent right in the heart of the neighbourhood.

New Forms
New Forms sits at the heart of Chelsea’s emerging creative quarter on Chelsea Manor Street – a quietly evolving pocket where music, design and culture now cluster just off the King’s Road. It’s less a traditional venue and more a listening venue shaped by those who deeply care about sound. By day, it operates as a calm café and vinyl store; by night it transforms into a vinyl-led listening bar with curated DJ sessions played through a world-class sound system. Modern and refreshingly intentional, this feels like a marker of where the local cultural scene is heading next.

The Pheasantry
Steeped in history, The Pheasantry has hosted everyone from rock royalty to rising stars and remains one of Chelsea’s most atmospheric live-music rooms. Set beneath Pizza Express, believe it or not, it offers an intimate, candle-lit setting that oozes storytelling, perfectly suiting jazz, cabaret, folk and acoustic performances – all to be enjoyed up close and personal.

The Trafalgar
Part pub, part performance space, The Trafalgar brings live music back into the heart of the King’s Road. Downstairs, its dedicated entertainment room hosts an evolving programme of live music, cabaret and performance with a lively atmosphere throughout the week. It’s the kind of place you come for a drink and stay for the set – completely unpretentious, sociable and rooted in neighbourhood life, it’s a reminder that some of the best music happens close to home, often when you’re not actively looking for it.

So as you will soon discover, live music isn’t background noise in Chelsea – it’s part of the neighbourhood rhythm.
