Save the date: Christmas Lights Switch-On

Now the nights are longer and days a bit chillier, Christmas will very soon be at the forefront of our minds. Can you believe another year has flown by already?

With the speed in which winter plans are made and diaries are filled up in mind, make sure you save the date for the Chelsea Christmas Lights Switch-On on Saturday, 23 November 2019.

Returning with magical displays across Sloane Square, Sloane Street, Duke of York Square and Pavilion Road – and for the first time, new lights on the King’s Road celebrating its regal heritage.

The new displays will see decorative lights inspired by the crown of King Charles II, who the Road was originally built for as a private route to travel between palaces. He famously restored Christmas to the nation following Oliver Cromwell’s ban on festivities for over a decade.

From 2pm on 23 November, enjoy an unmissable array of entertainment across the neighbourhood, including carol singers and performers – perfect for the entire family. At 5pm, Father Christmas and his ‘special helper’, will turn on the Christmas Lights from the stage on Sloane Square, lighting up Duke of York Square, Pavilion Road, Sloane Street and the King’s Road marking the start of the Christmas season.
